Xinhua Hospital's Endocrinology Department is a training site for doctoral and master students at Shanghai Jiaotong University, and it is also a national training base for residents and endocrinologists. There are 15 specialist doctors, including 2 chief physicians, 8 deputy chief physicians, 1 doctoral supervisor, 6 master supervisors, 11 doctors, and 4 masters. There are 46 beds in the department, with 1,900 discharged patients per year. There are specialist and expert outpatient clinics from Monday to Saturday, with an annual outpatient volume of 150,000. The number of individual outpatient clinics is leading in major hospitals in Shanghai. The Department of Endocrinology currently has 4 specialized clinics for thyroid, osteoporosis, hyperuricemia, and perinatal secretion. It is mainly engaged in diabetes and its complications, thyroid disease, adrenal disease, hypothalamic-pituitary disease, gout and hyperuricemia. Medical, teaching and research work on endocrine and metabolic diseases such as osteoporosis, osteoporosis, obesity, hyperlipidemia. The endocrinology department has carried out a lot of medical practice and research in the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its complications, and has explored a diagnosis and treatment plan suitable for various types of people. The department has carried out a series of researches on the prevention and treatment of diabetes and its chronic complications and thyroid diseases. The department has explored the mechanism of multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment earlier. In the multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases, especially in the diagnosis and treatment of perinatal thyroid disease and gestational diabetes, it is closely related to the obstetrics and pediatrics of Shanghai Maternal Critical and Critical Diseases Diagnosis and Treatment Center. The combination has become an important part of the Qiantian Plan, and has accumulated rich clinical experience.
